His wordly possessions are on his bike and he travels along with his dog. The dog is old and arthritic and probably has cateracts. He drags his leash behind. The whole thing is tragic in one sense. But this man and his dog teach me about love everytime I see them. His dog moves along slowly and he waits for him to catch up. Never too far ahead. He talks to him and encourages him.

The other day I spotted them at The Beanery. The guy had a piece of cardboard with a question mark on it and a few small coins on the ground next to it. He reminded me that I have a lot of questions, too.

I just waited until he went into the bathroom and gathered up some of my dollar bills and put them next to his question mark and thanked him in my mind for putting a little tenderness out into the world.
